Final Contract!

Okay so it has been LONG enough, people are reminding me to update the blog (AMBER! lol) so here is what has been happening. The past few months have been all about the contract, the majority of it was waiting for the surrogacy lawyers to draft it. The IP’s wanted a special clause added in there regarding eating all organic and hormone free meats and each party had a few revisions that needed to happen but alas, the final copy was signed, notarized, and sent in. I am hoping this means we will be getting medication dates, transfer dates and all that business very soon.  I am so ready for this!

(T) and I have been keeping in touch via email usually once a week or so. She is so great, sending me recipes and even this delicious organic “fish pack”. I am hoping our relationship will continue to flourish and grow as we embark on this journey together. My family and I are going to be going on a mini vacation for a cousins wedding and it happens to be where (S) & (T) live- I am still wondering whether I should tell them or not. Not because I don’t want to see them, I would LOVE LOVE to see them but rather I am worried they will feel obligated to make time and treat us to dinner or something similar and be annoyed. It is still such a different relationship that I have ever encountered, we are doing something so intimate and close yet in a sense we are still strangers. I am sure I will email them and let them know we will be there, I am just being paranoid that they will suddenly not like me and dump me for another non-bothersome uterus.

On another note, I just want to say thank you to everyone who has wished us well, rooted us on and followed along thus far. When Hunnie and I were looking into this we came across so many negative things and other surrogates testimonies of families basically disowning them due to their surrogacy. There are many states and countries with laws banning surrogacy and some people serving serious jail time and fines for it. Happily California is one of the best places for surrogacy. Needless to say we prepared for the worst, negative comments, people talking behind our backs and all that jazz, but to our happy surprise everyone has been amazing! I did not expect the admiration people have been showing, the emails and talks about how this is inspirational and such a heroic thing. I did not do this for the notoriety and to be hailed as a hero (don’t get me wrong I will humbly accept said compliments) I did this so that another family can feel the joy I feel everyday (okay, MOST days) of having my beautiful children surround me with love, kisses, snot and poopy diapers. But I am so happy and so blessed to have such amazing people in our lives that are being our biggest supporters. So thank you all very much, you guys are amazing! Keep the love and support coming!
